Kiwi
I've discovered where all the used Celinders are being traded in Denmark... Brusen
haha...yes I could tell you. There are quite a few at the moment, sometimes three are no Celinders on the Danish market.
SpinalTap
I know this website. Always some Celinders for sale. Haven't checked it for a while, I now see a J Classic 4 for sale that I had my eye on earlier (for sale in the USA) with maple fretboard. and reverse headstock. Anybody know the seller? Kiwi
Wasn't he also selling it on the forum? I seem to remember some mention of it at least.
SpinalTap
I can't remember that, but I'm not up to date on what is going on at Basschat. I'm kind of interested in the bass. It is the only passive Celinder Jazz with maple fretboard I have seen untill now.
Brusen
I talked with this guy half a year ago, we had a long talk about woods and stuff like that. He sounded like a good guy. As far as I remember, the bass was build in mid 90s.
SpinalTap
The one at Bassalone is build in 2007 according to the website. So this must be another bass. I will send the seller an email with some questions about this bass.
Brusen
I definitely think it's the same bass. not from 2007. but yes, contact him. he lives in copenhagen.

Why isn't Basschat the centre of your life?!!
SpinalTap
Well, because I have Celinders to buy! ^_^ I just made a deal to pickup a Celinder P Vintage next tuesday. I like my P Classic, but prefer precision basses with rosewood fretboards, and this is a stunning example, even for Celinder standards. Kiwi
Nice! Is it active though?!
SpinalTap
It's got the CP-4 preamp, so in this case: volume active bass, passive treble, I'm very curious to compare the two P's this tuesday. I will write a short review this week.
Brusen
it's a nice one, rory. Did you pick it up in the netherlands? I definitely think that blocks and/or binding is a jazz bass thing. It looks OK on this one though. Nice bass. 2. hand Celinders are cheap these days, a shame if you have no money How old is the bass? I think I might have seen it at Chris old workshop, a couple of years ago.
SpinalTap
The binding is kind of odd, but i think in a good way. I love the braz. rosewood on the fretboard and the maple neck. There is alot going on in this wood. The Bass is from Belgium, so tomorrow we meet half way for the transaction. I can't wait to see it in person. It is from 2008 and it's not cheap in any way unfortunatly. It's alot more expensive than the P Classic I bought six months ago. But the binding. rosewood board and the maple used for this neck are expensive upgrades.
Brusen
I actually think I remember that chris said it was going to belgium. so i've had this bass in my hands. I traded my p vintage 4 months ago, it was a good bass, reliable on a tour i was on. I still think I would prefere a passive toned P instead of the cp3 preamp. But that's just my taste enjoy! SpinalTap
I think I prefer passive basses, but will see how passive it sounds with no bass boost at all, and working with the passive treble knob. It has the same pickup (SD Antiquity II) and bodywood as my P Classic, so I think it will be interesting to compare. If I want it passive + rosewood fretboard, I can always exchange the necks.... SpinalTap
So after a hour of playing on my new bass. All I can say is WOW!! It is perfect. Looks, playability but especially the sound. When you play it passive (yes that's possible including passive treble control) you get the even fullness on the complete fretboard that I love on some of the old pre-CBS Fenders. Actually this is the first P-Bass that is combarable with the '66 P that I sold 2 years ago. (and never should have let go...) The P Classic is fantastic. (great attack and punch) but that bass is gonna be for sale very soon.
