Great shape - I imagine the bass version may be a bit neck-divey

I remember the shape being described (in the late 70s when weird shapes were a lot less common) as the bastard ofspring of a Gibson Firebird and a left-handed Rickenbacker Bass.

I have an original Ibanez Iceman 'Paul Stanley' guitar from 1978 and it is one of the best guitars I've ever owned/played.

Never had the bass version..... though I have been tempted by the dual soapbar / bound-body versions from a few years back.

when I was about 16 some mates of mine had a band and they used to pratice in the guitarist's mum and dad's kitchen opposite our house. I went over once and they started without the bass player, who walked in unannounced and stood in the doorway with his Iceman slung around his neck, holding a blanket up like a cape rocking out. You had to be there, but it was very funny at the time and i think, other than an explorer bass, probably the only one you could get away with doing that.

BigRedX - I would agree on the neck dive thing. The guitar I had didn't balance at all so the bass is almost certain to do that unless they have made the body out of lead.

I think that was an Antoria - they certainly did a guitar in in the late '70's which was a take on the Gibson "F-type" mandolin with the scrolly bits - could have done a bass version.
Fairly sure there was an Epiphone too around the same time with a scrolled upper horn (oo-er missus!)

I’ve always liked the look, except the tuners should be 4 Sprezels on the bass side.
Thought about having Ibenez make me one in white, or a white Jem bass.

But then I’d have to dress in white and film a video in Iceland.
