KORG PX4D

I am thinking of getting one of these PX4D's and have been reading the info on the Korg website. I am a little confused by some of the Amp listings. Humour me and please help fill the gaps or make corrections. Even though some are Guit@r Amps.

I have the bass version of this device myself (great buy by the way!) and always reckoned that the device names corresponded to the following:

TWD4x10 - Fender 4x10 combo
VALVE - Ampeg SVT2
VALVE2 - as above
CLASSIC - Ampeg SVT-CL
SCOOPED - Trace Elliot solid state head
LA STUD - SWR
GOLDPNL - Eden
JAZZ - No idea, what does Jazz bassists use?
STUDIO - Ampeg Portaflex combo
AC100 - Vox bass head
UKMAJOR - Hiwatt 200w head

Hope this helps you, I've always imagined the above when I've been playing with my PX4B, some of the sounds are so good it makes me question why I bother with amplifiers sometimes

Think I will grab on of these for headphone practice. May even use it for recording.

JAZZ... according to the manual it's "A combo bass amp favored by jazz bassists".

Whilst I like the PX4D for headphone practice, I would never use it through a speaker or live. Even without noise reduction on, it has a cutoff threshold below which your instrument just cuts off or dies. This is crap for those who like to play with dynamics (like me).

Don't worry about the effects too much. They are useful and you should be able to get a nice selection of sounds, but as you may find it too noisy and glitchy to use live, it's not so important to work out what every option is.

+1.. Mine's spot-on for headphone jammin', but I wouldn't dream of recording with it or using it live...

So I finally bought one of these for quiet practice, although there are some LOUD driven tones in this little thing that are great fun !

Fully recommended for headphone practice.
