bassmansky Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 i have found an old 1x15 cabinet with speaker which needs replacing.it still sounds very good but the speaker cone has a rip about an inch long and currently has some tape over it!The cab looks hand made and is very heavy for its compact size.What are the best speakers to buy for depth and volume and possibly weight issues.i know a lot of 15"s sound muddy and want to avoid those.Also the best place to get them. Use the tissue PVA trick, applied on both the inside and outside of the cone. Silkscreen fabric also works well. Quote

Tape is very rock and roll but the ol' tissue trick is more permanent, and is not likely to peel off mid gig which might give you buzzaw distortion when you don't expect it. Quote
