Bailey Brothers in Bristol make acoustic guitars but did make a few acoustic basses too and Thomas (Will) Williams made the occasional Fender-alike. Their current website was in my original list of UK luthiers, however it's latest incarnation doesn't exactly inspire me with confidence about the seriousness of this venture. I've played a couple of the new guitars and wasn't too impressed with them TBH. Haven't yet managed to try a bass, although do fancy the look of their Rickenfakers... Not at all impressed with the Bailey Guitars web site. There is at least one bass on there but it's not exactly easy to find. [/quote] That is pretty amazing (if true) a boon to all the back sufferers - my Overwater perception comes in at 6.5lbs and its tiny At the other end of the scale(s) there is a Ricky 4030 hamburger on eBay and guy says its 14lbs!!! I dont think my plan of collecting one from each builder is going to happen now (unless me balls come up ) I think we are hitting well over 60 makers at the mo' And if i restricted it to a BritBass I would miss out on lots of lovely stuff I GAS for usually BB [size=4]Now I wonder if as a collective we have an example of every one........[/size] Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
