paul h
Has anybody here got any experience of Vocaloid and specifically using it with Reason? Just looking for advice, tips, general chat etc. Thanks.
cheddatom
What the hell's a vocaloid and how do you use it with reason?
paul h
Vocaloid is a midi voice synthesizer that actually produces quite decent vocals. I have no idea how to use it with Reason yet, I haven't actually got it...just thinking about it! I am hoping I can play/record a melody in Reason, then drop the midi file into Vocaloid and turn into a vocal track. The actual Vocaloid website is a bit rubbish http://www.vocaloid.com/en/index.html Here is a demo of it in use, with one of the Japanese voices. Which would be perfect for me since I discovered Tokyo Jihen! Edited July 29, 2009 by paul h

cheddatom
That's very interesting, thanks!! I might have a go at this. IMO Reason is pretty poor for writing midi. You could use anything to create a MIDI file and put it into that program.
paul h
I am pretty happy with my atrocious keyboard playing through my Toneport kb37 into Reason. It does the job well enough for me. I think I will have a crack at Vocaloid though. Some of the example out there are pretty good.
