cytania
Second set I've had that have snapped, and not even when I was attacking them bigtime. Off to buy some D'Addarios tomorrow, will try flats and see if they tame my Ibanez. On the subject of my Ibanez SRX400 I am finding that although the bridge looks rock solid where the strings go through the metal is getting quite gnarled up. Strings can pop out if tuner slackened. Oh and while I'm at it anyone noticed the tuner collars loosen over the months? Found a loose one on my Ibanez and a couple slack on my Spear (whose R has fallen off as predicted). Annoying night for my two basses...
jonsmith
I'm surprised that you could get enough tension in TI strings to snap them (unless you were tuning up a few tones). Is there any gnarled metal on the bridge in the area of the strings that could explain why you're getting string breakages? Jean-Luc Pickguard
Any strings would snap if they pass over a knarled-up bridge - is that where they're snapping? The first set of TIs I bought must be over six years old and are still going strong, as are all the other sets on my other basses.
leftybassman392
I use them too and have never had problems with strings snapping. Got a dead A string once but that's about it.
spinynorman
I've even had cut-down long scale TI flats on a short scale EB3, which is supposed to be a good way to snap them. They were on there for about a year and were still going strong when I sold the bass.
mrcrow
TI strings only let me down once...and it was metal failure on the windings TI replaced them directly and since then ++1 i consider them quite robust and able to take quite a lot of extra tension in doing bendy ruperts i havent used them for slap and pull
steve-soar
Never had a problem with them, because I've never used them, as I won't use strings that cost that much.
