henry bellingham
Hi Folks, Well; it's been a while and just because we've got nothing better to do (again), we thought we'd set up another Basschat South East Bash on Saturday 10 October 2009 for your enjoyment!! Here's all the details: Date: Saturday 10 October 2009 Time: 11am - 6pm Venue: Jubilee High School, Surrey, School Lane, Addlestone, Surrey KT15 1TE Venue link: Jubilee High School Website Map link: MAP LINK Format: 1 x general area to set up your gear, plus 1 x workshop area with workshops through the day (details tbc), plus cafeteria Cost: £10 for the day Charities: We will donate any profits from the day to these 4 worthy causes: UPDATE on the charities for the Bash: Any profits from the day will be donated as follows: 1. The Prostate Cancer Charity (40%) 2. The Orpheus Centre (40%) 3. African Children's Choir (10%) 4. The Blue Cross (10%) For anyone who wants more details about the amazing work of these charities, have a look below: The Prostate Cancer Charity The Orpheus Centre The African Children's Choir The Blue Cross We aim to have some great workshops on the day, pretty much as we did last year but this time, we'll have a lot more space which should help! For example, the entrance foyer at the venue is about the same amount of space we had at the Holiday Inn last year. And we have the main theatre and a cafeteria area at our disposal as well, which gives us a lot of options! There will be refreshments available on the day for a small charge of course which will help increase the profits and keep everyone happy! It's going to cost £185 for the hire of the venue plus we've been advised to take out some public liability insurance cover (which we will do) therefore, we need to charge £10 per head entrance fee to cover those cost. And, like last year, all profits will be donated to good causes so not only will we have a fabulous day 'navel gazing' as only bass players can, but we will be raising funds for good causes.. in particular Baschat itself, which is why we're all here in the first place talking about this stuff! Other details such as which rooms/spaces will be used for what function etc, masterclasses, raffles etc, will be added over the next few weeks. Hope lots of you can come because it's that which'll make it a great day! What would be really helpful from everyone who's interested in partcipating on the day is: 1. Donations of raffle prizes 2. Ideas/requests for the workshops 3. Volunteers to help out on the day (if needs be) Basically, we've come up with a format based on last year's event but there's no reason why we can't expand on it either.. So all practical ideas/offers welcome! What'd be good now is to use this thread to get an idea of who's coming and what gear they'll be bringing..So, to get the ball rolling: UPDATED LIST: 01.
