warwickhunt
'I bought this believing it to be a 59'... In which case probably for a wedge of cash; so you'll be gutted then! Among other things (a new registered seller), I'm loving the fact there is no neck plate. BarnacleBob
Is that a bad photo or does the logo actually look drawn on with crayon BB
sgt-pluck
I saw that. I kind of think that if you know enough about basses to know that a '59' is an attribute of note in a Fender, then you might also recognise that NOT HAVING A NECKPLATE COULD BE AN ISSUE!! Or. Is it just the worst fake job ever?! Or. Is it stolen? I've a bass I bought off eBay years ago which has something like an Allparts neckplate, instead of the OE neckplate on which would have been the serial number. The bass is definately genuine, but I can't think of any reason for removing the neckplate (and therefore serial number) other than to anonymise the instrument? Musky
Look familiar? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/fender-precision-195...emZ220423583328

Moos3h
Not good, black paintwork over the contours = plywood.
Bassassin
Not good, black paintwork over the contours = plywood.
Not necessarily, just not solid timber. From what I can tell from the deliberately poor pics, I think this looks like OK quality 70s JapCrap, in which case the body will be solid mahogany with ash veneers. Obviously the oversprays serve the same purpose as on ply. The neckplate's clearly AWOL because a "Made In Japan" stamp wouldn't have gone well with the "Jan '59 American made" bull$hit. Dunno how I missed this when it was listed at £4000 - that's comedy genius! Jon.
LukeFRC
more glaringly obvious: did they do three tone sunburst in 1959? I thought at this point it was two tone

Dr.Dave
I can't in my wildest dreams figure how this dude hopes to get away with this one - it's such a duff ad. Must try harder.
