ps. all 9 tracks were done live @ studio (incl. mistakes lol) .. will go back soon & do some more .. wasn't really pleased with my bass sound .. way too deep .. not how it sounded when playing.

Just for those you have had a listen (but not commented) ...

Paulman custom jazz bass - Nordstrand Big Singles (brilliant btw)
Markbass Classic 300 & 610 cab (also fantastic)

DI - sounded more natural than anticipated,
Mic'd - bit disappointing

DI & mic mixed (not by me) together but no way captured what I heard so will try using my own Shure sm57 next time cos that sounds great (10-20ft away) & will make sure the sound guy (young lad new to this) has a neutral eq to start with or less bass than recorded here ... it's a learning curve but we all agreed it was a better way of recording ie playing live opposed to separately .. unless you spend big bucks .. ! Yes you get bleed over & any mistakes are captured but you do bounce of eachother & (hopefully) get a groove going (or rock in our case) like at a gig rather than the sterile 'booth' type recordings .. it's only a demo afterall !
