LukeFRC
ok very random... been playing with my new line 6 bass pod then saw this http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/8177318.stm first ten seconds, guesses how you get that tone? My brain has turned to tone mush from playing with the POD for too long.... I guess a stingray bit of compression but beyond that.... ? WHUFC BASS
To get that tone you have to pray to the Lord!! "Lord we thank you for skateboards" LOL!!

Kiwi
Its been recorded in a studio environment so you'll have to work hard to reproduce the same tone. But as a starting point, I'd suggest a Stingray 5 (or an Aria SB1000 if you can get it sounding fat enough) into Trace Elliots dual band compressor into whatever rig you're using at the moment. Alternatively if you want to go the whole hog, a really, really good quality valve preamp like the Avalon U5 into a clean power amp like one of the 1u Class D jobbies I have and then maybe into a Berg 4x10 or 2x12 speaker cab. The bergs I've tried have generally sounded pretty fat and clean.
thisnameistaken
Yeah I don't think you can get that tone without Jesus. I've been thinking about getting a little Jesus for my gig bag actually.
TheButler
That guy looked like he didn't believe that was his own name... As for the sound you need lots o' phat, compressed sound into lots of phat, heavy rig. Ain' no POD gonna sim that.
