andrewrx7
Hi there, If anyone has a Cort Curbow 5 string, could you take a measure of the width of the neck at the nut and 12th fret (or the string spacing at the nut and bridge). I am looking to buy another bass, and the 2x 5 strigners I have previously used both have narrow spaced strings. I'd rather keep to that kind of spacing. I am quite interested in the Curbow, but there are no specs that I can find! Thanks, Andrew
neepheid
From Cort's website, it states that the neck width at the first fret is 45mm and 68mm at the 24th fret. No help, but it does remind me that I saw a Curbow 4 in the flesh yesterday and couldn't believe how small the body is.
andrewrx7
How did I miss that info!?! Thanks!
lemmywinks
It's not as widely spaced as a typical 4 but is easily manageable. I don't play 5s but adapted pretty quickly, i found it easier than the Streamer 5 i had and about the same as my OLP. It's slaps well, in fact it slaps better than the other 5s i've had. I'll have a look tonight when i get in and will try to measure the spacing
andrewrx7
Thanks! My current string spacings at the bridge are around 16mm, which from what I can see, are pretty close (typical spacing seems to be around 19mm).
lemmywinks
Looks like 17mm, i took it from the centre of the saddle (think that's the correct way to do it!)
andrewrx7
Thanks! Just what I wanted to hear! Cheers for making the effort!
lemmywinks
There's some better pics on the for sale thread (finally got round to doing one), including a close-up of the bridge if that would give you more of an idea
