OldGit Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 The Perfect Bass (it's a bass specialist store in the US) has a video part on their website. If you ever wondered what the difference between a Jazz and a Precision was here's the answer. It's all about slaps and chops, apparently, but not in the way you're thinking http://www.theperfectbass.com/live/flash/s..._jbass_ftp.html Quote
josh3184 Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 hah! well that was an interesting way of looking at it! Strange analogy but whatever work i guess... Quote
thodrik Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 'You need both!' For the first minute or so it was fairly interesting, but it descended quickly into corporate shilling, (you need both) generalisations (if you play a Precision you always play in the pocket) and outright strangeness! I still like the Jay guy though, he is pretty watchable. Quote
Dr.Dave Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 To be fair to the guy - he did say something like 'I'm a Fender guy - if course I'm going to say 'both'. The chop and slap.........well....... I know where he's coming from. I always say if you have a tool kit the Precision's the hammer and the Jazz is the rest. BTW - saying P bass (Pee Bass) when you're talking about a Fender should be punishable by death. How hard is it to say 'Precision'. 'P' bass , to me , sounds like something a copy manufacturer would do to avoid a law suit. Quote
