ezbass
Just received and listened to the final live gig by Thunder recorded at the Hammersmith Apollo. What a great example of classic rock live, wish I could have been there. Best of all is the mix, not all guitars and kick drum, no Chris Childs' bass is right there clear as a bell and locking down with Harry James as tight as ever. Surely one the best UK rhythm sections ever. If you like Thunder or classic rock in general this is highly recommended. Shame they (see Danny Bowes) decided to call it a day, but all good things come to an end I guess.
Dr.Dave
Thunder always struck me as the most famous pub band in the world - they'd jump on stage looking like they just turned out of the saloon bar to an intro tape of AC DC music - but folk loved them for it. Good band I thought.
kingofthestuntmen
Saw Thunder play Saints & Sinners, Glasgow in '89 (I think) before S & S became King Tuts. Must have been the first tour they did, and they took the place apart. Saw them a few times since; supporting Heart at Edinburgh Playhouse, Donington etc and always enjoyed, A pity they are no longer. Must try and find my Terraplane stuff... Marvin
Saw them twice in the early 90's. Once at Milton Keynes Bowl then at Wembley Stadium. Never really into them but they were bloody good live. Better than some more established acts!
steantval
Seen them twice in the last couple of years. Excellent live band with some awesome songs.
