PapillonIrl
Big influence on my guitar playing, and one of the reasons I picked up a bass in the first place. Have been revisiting some of the tracks that caught my attention in my late teens tonight and realised I have no idea who played bass on these albums ? Specifically 'Curtis', 'Roots' and the 'Superfly' soundtrack. My dream is to somehow get away with having a function band that had 1/3 Curtis songs in a set . Extra bonus points to whoever knows how that warm fuzz was achieved on the likes of 'Beautiful brother of mine' etc. http://listen.grooveshark.com/#/song/Beaut...rsion_/21230699 Gotta love that percussion player too... Both IME have sounds alot harsher than what ended up on record. PapillonIrl
Apparently it was one of these ... http://www.fretbase.com/blog/tag/maestro-bass-brassmaster/ This would make sense given what was available at the time... Here's another example of the sound: http://listen.grooveshark.com/#/song/_Don_...ng_To_Go/223424

The Funk
I heard it was a blown speaker as well. That fuzz on (Don't Worry) If There's A Hell Below, We're All Gonna Go is immense.
