Bluesbassman
With great regret something has to go to fund my new Warwick $$ NT Corvette 5 , so it has to be my 1996 Status Energy 5 string. From the 1996 catalogue; The Status Energy bass combines two Hyperactive™ high resolution pick ups with pre-shaped active electronics featuring master volume, balance and active treble cut/boost controls to create a bass with masses of punch. The bolt on neck is constructed from rock maple with dual graphite rods for extra rigidity and a hard wearing Indian rosewood fingerboard. Body is in African utile with a glass black lacquer finish. All hardware is black finish. It is the one on the right in my profile pic and is identical to the middle one in the attached catalogue page. Guitar is in immaculate condition, fitted with Rotosound™ swing bass strings and includes a Status gig bag. Bass centre offered me £350 in px and said they would retail it at around £550- 600. So I am looking to split the difference and would be looking for offers above £450. I am in North West but travel regularly to the West Midlands. If not, then we are at The Old Black Bull on Friargate on the 22nd August, if your not gigging come say hello. That's a point, how you know I'm with After Hours Bass Bunny? Have we met? niceguyhomer
I'll try and get down - used to love playing there in spite of the miserable tight sod that runs it.

Kev
i briefly owned the 4 string version of this earlier this year, got it for an absolute bargain, lovely bass with a very fast neck. I bet this is rather good too, don't let the wooden neck fool you, they are great status basses Edited August 11, 2009 by Kev

The only saving grace is that the last few times we have played there he has buggered off somewhere else with his cronies and left his bar manager to run it. Bass Bunny, just after I posted the question I saw your comment on NWB, damned clever of you. Kev. I also have the 4 string Artiste version (on the left in profile pic) which I will not be parting with under any circumstances, though I may have it converted to a fretless if Status ever get back to me with a price.
