As far as I can gather you've paid 50% to date (270USD) and will have to pay the remainder before the luthier ships and then you'll be stung for customs duty on top of that.
So, it's cost you £180'ish and will cost another £250'ish to get your neck. I'd write this off to experience, contact Jon Shuker and I bet you'll get a new neck to your specification for not much more (if any) than the £250.
Don't tell the existing luthier and he's probably going to be out of pocket for wood/time&expenses on the deal anyway. You win, he loses !

Thanks again to you all, His site is still running but he makes that many amendments to his order pages, separating custom orders from neck orders / body's etc. It gives the impression my order is moving up the que but it's just been re-arainged?
