Who makes 'no-name' bases?

Just curious, they popped up a while ago with teles and strats, now they do a Jazz and Precision:

There is a rumour that they have something to do with Tokai - I've got one of them and the build quality is superlative considering the price. There are obvious cosmetic differences to the Tokais but I'd say that there's nothing a good setup could not overcome in terms of playability! Highly recommended.

Fiesta red... that's just a poncy name for pink isn't it?

yeah personally i think those no-name basses are actually better quality than anything else for the same price really (well new anyway)

Fiesta Red is the correct name for Salmon Pink. Fender never made Salmon Pink and the famous instruments are a batch of Fiesta Red that faded.

These basses come from the same factory as Jim Deacon & SX.

I have one, I've gigged with it and they're remarkable value for money.

I have two of these, one Jazz (for sale) and one Precision. I regularly gig with the Precision. I also have a no name butterscotch tele. All play very well indeed!

Knowing that they are similar to SX/Jim Deacon is very annoying - I searched high and low trying to find a UK distributor of an SX (all the Jim Deacons I've seen are Precisions, and very limited colours...). In the end, I bought one from Rondo Music in America...

Worth knowing about for a future purchase - although I've seen JD Precisions at £85...wonder if the extra cash is worth it?

that's a pity I've never seen them in Italy... I think that shipping would raise the price too much
