Roob
Hi there, Managed to get a few recordings of the band I am currently in (Monkeyhead), and was looking for some general feedback. Constructive criticism is appreciated We are a rock / pop covers band and are generally relaxed about playing. We don't play for money right now, and don't mind too much if not many people turn up to gigs, we just enjoy playing. Done 2 gigs so far though, both with really good audiences. Got a few more planned before the end of the year. Recording is not studio quality, borrowed a microphone off my brother. So vocals are perhaps a little quiet. There is 6 songs on there currently for your listening pleasure. Monkeyhead on YouTube Hope you enjoy them! Roob EDIT - Yes, I am aware our guitarist plays a few bum chords on SOS. He is also aware Edited September 21, 2009 by Roob
Roob
Selfish bump... Anyone had a listen? Don't have to give any feedback, just interest to know if anyone managed to listen without turning it off halfway through . Roob
Is "Cover" a swearword here?
razze06
Personally, I think this recording makes it quite hard to make a judgement. It all sounds very tinny, and you can hardly hear the voice and bass, while guitars and drums are very loud. A better recording will make you sound a lot more accomplished and polished, and it would make it easier to give suggestions.
KERMITNT
my idea is simple and easy what you should do: go to a studio for rehersal and ask before if he has a zoom h4 or simillar device its only costing 5 pounds per hour m8 then record it and post it
Roob
Good idea Kermitnt. Just a thought, I have done all the editing and listening etc through nice headphones, which might be making it easier to hear bass frequencies etc. Perhaps it will sound different through a set of desktop speakers? KERMITNT
monitors are the best for mixing they dont put color to the sound so the best way are speakers not headphones but even that you sould record with zoomh4 or some similar device
