Fender Japan Fretless

To be honest I'm not really clued up when it comes to the value of fenders from different eras, all I know is generally the 60's 70's USA ones are expensive. Now this guy may be justified in selling this fretless jazz at this price, but I thought it was rather alot for a japanese fender, what are the opinions of those fender heads amongst us?

The joker's asking 3-4 times it's value. He's also got a US Fender he only wants twice it's worth as well.
