Mumbles87 Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 How much would you be willing to sell the neck plus tuners for? Cheers
Guest BassKS Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009
Unfortunately the guy who routed bridge pickup didn't do it really well, so there is small piece of wood chipped. It can be seen at some pictures.
the guy who did the routing wasnt you now was it?
kurcatovium Posted August 18, 2009 Author Posted August 18, 2009 (edited) No, it wasn't done by me. (That would have been even more screwed ) Edited September 30, 2009 by kurcatovium
Ajoten Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Not familiar with LP basses - what's the neck profile like?
kurcatovium Posted August 20, 2009 Author Posted August 20, 2009 Ajoten: It's more like Precision. Width at nut is 43mm. It has 21 frets (classical Warmoth extended fretboard) and width at 21st fret is 64mm. Thickness at nut is 21mm and at the heel it's 26mm. Neck, although I can't say it's superfast, is pretty comfortable even when I'm more used to jazz style necks. Very easy to play.
Ajoten Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 (edited) For the record, I think it looks fantastic. Edited August 21, 2009 by Ajoten
gnasher1993 Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 Sounds daft, but I like the look of those knobs... How much would you want for them, posted to me?
kurcatovium Posted August 23, 2009 Author Posted August 23, 2009 gnasher1993: Well, if I'm keeping the bass I'll throw in active preamp so these knobs will be no longer needed. Stay in touch with me and we'll see.
Ou7shined Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Mate, I think you should go back to your original plan of selling the neck separately. I feel that if this bass had a F style neck on it then you'd have a far better chance of selling it. Also the pickup positioning is quite unusual (and with that lovely figured maple top there is no going back and very little chance to fix the wonky additional routing) I therefore think you might do well to try a fretless neck on it. I think it would sell then.
kurcatovium Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 Pickup positioning is unusual, but it sounds like a beast. If I didn't need the money I would never sell this. I like the sound of it a lot, esp. bridge pickup in series and neck pickup in parallel - really punchy slap tones but full and warm fingerstyle. Due to the "routing damage" the body seems impossible to sell. I don't care if there's wood chip (until today nobody at person noticed unless I told them about it) as long as it plays the way I like. And I like it a lot. Maybe I should try a new neck to achieve more Fender-ish look. It's so hard to decide. :-D
kurcatovium Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 OK, but then it won't be for sale. :-D
kurcatovium Posted September 21, 2009 Author Posted September 21, 2009 New link for pictures Bump! http://picasaweb.google.cz/ctirad.kovar/Warmoth#
kurcatovium Posted September 30, 2009 Author Posted September 30, 2009 No love for it when trying to sell so it's now for trade only...
kurcatovium Posted October 7, 2009 Author Posted October 7, 2009 from the 4th page! I'd really welcome trade for some kind of cheaper bass (maybe 5er) + some funds going my way.
