Dubs Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Hi mate. Can you just elaborate a little bit more about the issue with the Streamer truss rod? Do you have a cash price in mind for it?
EvilSmile Posted August 20, 2009 Author Posted August 20, 2009 Hey, sorry probably should have been more specific in my post! I've received a PM about this as well, here was my reply:
I bought it second hand about a year and half ago, at the time nothing was wrong visually and it played fine (i wouldn't have bought it otherwise) a year down the line i wished to tweak the rod for some new strings but it didn't move. The neck has no warping, no twists, no signs of cracking looks perfect and plays perfectly, like i said its just that the truss doesn't move. - i'm more than happy to let any one inspect the bass as well if they are in any doubts. Its kinda thrown me into a kinda dilemma as i'm not too sure what is a far price on it, and i don't want to sell a bass in good faith that actually has some serious issues - short of getting a pro to look over it that is but i've not had the time. As such i am really open to offers on this one and if the price is right (no sure what is the right price yet, again sorry) then i'm more than happy to sell.
Cheers,
gnasher1993 Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 What sort of price would you be looking for on the Streamer? I don't have anything to offer in terms of trades. The only 5 string I own is a double bass. If you could PM me a rough figure that you would want that'd be great.
EvilSmile Posted August 20, 2009 Author Posted August 20, 2009 Updated with Price on Thumb £950.....i can negotiate this though! Streamer is on hold pending some details.
rjb Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009
Anyone interested in a Thumb BO?
Always, but I already have two! Here's a bump for you. Good luck with the sale.
EvilSmile Posted August 23, 2009 Author Posted August 23, 2009 Would £845 - shipped anywhere in the UK tempt anyone?
EvilSmile Posted September 10, 2009 Author Posted September 10, 2009 Well ebay did nothing i'm not going to re-list just yet, so the thumb is back here and available for sale. I need to have this bass sold ideally before i return to uni, in october, as i need the cash for rent! New Reduced price: £800 inc P&P shipped anywhere in the UK - i can negotiate a little on this!
EvilSmile Posted September 12, 2009 Author Posted September 12, 2009 Bumpy Bump. Lowest i am willing to let this go for is £750 + P&P! - anyone interested?
gingerfish Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Tempting, would have to shift its 4 stringed little brother though. Hmmmm. Decisions, decisions.
fatgoogle Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 If you are willing to give me my first car for free, i will buy your bass.
EvilSmile Posted September 28, 2009 Author Posted September 28, 2009 Another bump! The bass will be moving up to york, with me when i return to uni - in a week or so. Opens up the possibility for personal delivery if your on the way if postage is an issue!
EvilSmile Posted September 30, 2009 Author Posted September 30, 2009 (edited) Bump I really would like this bass to be sold before sunday, when i am returning to uni. As such i am prepared to accept reasonable offers I would like something in the region of £750 + P&P. I will concider any serious offers, but i'm not prepared to give the bass away. If it doesn't sell by sunday i will most likey withdraw the bass. Edited September 30, 2009 by EvilSmile
rjb Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Awesome basses these. Alas, current fashion these days means that everything has to have "Fender" on the headstock! I just bought one recently for more than you are asking and its still worth every penny. Might be best to hold on to it for a while until the tide turns. Cheers-
EvilSmile Posted October 2, 2009 Author Posted October 2, 2009 Very true! These are seriously good basses. Right i've got to get my gear packed up for uni, so unless someone really wants this bass, i think its best i withdraw it now to avoid a rushing the sale before leaving for uni.
EvilSmile Posted November 26, 2009 Author Posted November 26, 2009 Bass is up for sale again! Currently residing with me at uni in york, and still not being played so thought i'd put it back up and see what happens!
