far0n
I knew there was a thread about vocal mics in here somewhere.... so I type in vocal mics (the exact title of the thread) expecting it to be top of the list. Oh no... it's fourth... what was top ? A thread entitled "Bassists Cars" ! WTF !!
Mrs Tinman
Ermm, I've never had a problem with the search function Was it so bad that the thread you needed was number four on the list?
Raggy
But you found it, so it works?
bythesea
If you check the extra search fields it shows that by default newest threads are listed first. So if the "bassists cars" thread had both words in it somewhere (which it must have) and it was the most recent thread that had them (which it must have) it will come out on top. If you had searched by titles only rather than the whole text (and again whole text is the default) it is the only thread shown. Machines
Actually the forum uses the improved Sphinx for IPB plug in which improves search capabilities beyond the default one, have a look here: http://forums.invisionize.com/Sphinx-for-I...23-t118226.html
Waldo
I actually think the search function here is pretty good!
bobbass4k
I've always found the serach brilliant, much better than the talkbass search, which is annoying because they make such a fuss about seraching before you post a topic, yet the search is entirely useless
BarnacleBob
I have trouble with the search function but i think A) I am not using it correctly and A) typing in the word Fender tends to return rather a lot of threads............ pete.young
Use google to search the site - put site:basschat.co.uk into the search string.
