dannybuoy Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 (edited) I've just got myself a nice Fender MIA Precision now, so am moving this on. I think the MIA plays nicer but this VM still sounds better - maybe due to the Duncan designed pickup which has a nice throaty roar. It's in very good condition, no dings anywhere apart from a couple of light scratches on the back which I can take pics of later. She is strung up with DR Black Beauties and is nicely set up. I will also chuck in a Fender gig bag. Pickup only, or can meet within reasonable distances (I live in Streatham, SW London). No pics just yet but it's the white Sid Vicious style one like this: http://www.squierguitars.com/products/sear...rtno=0326800505 Like the Classic Vibe series, the Vintage Modifieds are a cut above the regular Squiers and some say on a par with MIM Fenders. [s]£170 £160 £150[/s] SOLD! Edited September 15, 2009 by dannybuoy
Crikey! Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 thats lovely. If i hadnt just bought a jazz id probably have it off you.
Soloshchenko Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 I'd also be interested if it was a different colour. I can't have 2 white fender basses, it just seems lame. Good luck with the sale. As these seem togofor £220 ish new I'd say your price is fair for a sweet bass.
peety Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 pity this is collection only would definitely take it if you could post cheers steve

dannybuoy Posted August 28, 2009 Author Posted August 28, 2009 (edited) Sorry guys, but as I don't have a box to post it and it doesn't come with a hard case I'm only offering collection at the moment. If it doesn't shift in a couple of weeks time I may look into postage then! I also have a tort scratchplate that might fit this (haven't checked yet!) that would go with it nicely. I'll be listing that up separately when I get time... Edited September 1, 2009 by dannybuoy
William James Easton Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 oooh white with tort plate! :brow:

dannybuoy Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 Tempting, and I do want a jazz one day, but right now I need the money as I'm moving house in a few weeks! If you sell the jazz and want to buy, let me know.
dannybuoy Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 By the way folks, I'll be up in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire this weekend so can meet on Sunday within the golden triangle of Bedford, Peterborough and Cambridge, or anywhere between there and London!
AttitudeCastle Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I'm selling one too, for 150 including a case i bought mine has a slightly damaged bridge and a messed up truss though =S if i hadn't bought a bass recently i would probably buy it from you
dannybuoy Posted September 9, 2009 Author Posted September 9, 2009 (edited) Now reduced to £150 (with perfect bridge and truss rod)! If this doesn't go by this weekend I will hunt down a box and offer postage! Edited September 9, 2009 by dannybuoy
Linus27 Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 What I find really interesting is that you think this sounds better than your 2008 MIA Precision. Thats quite a statement and an interesting one too.
dannybuoy Posted September 9, 2009 Author Posted September 9, 2009 (edited) The VM has a bit more grind going on in the upper mids, which I happen to prefer the sound of. I think it has 500k pots instead of the usual 250k that Fender use - so it could be down to that as well as the different pickups. I have a new 62 re-issue pickup about to go in the (2005) Fender - hopefully that should do the trick! Edited September 9, 2009 by dannybuoy
