Bought my Monty Brown 4003 of the guy for a reasonable price, put it this way, i managed to sell it for the same i paid...he seemed sound enough :)

Have a look at the back particularly - on a lot of high end basses you would expect to see each side matching (usually book-matched), but the grain on one side is totally different to the other.

Not that it has to of course, and this is still rather stunning for a ric (considering I don't usually like them)

Thanks for that, I was looking at the very edges.

Now that you have pointed it out it has become glaringly obvious. Beautiful, but bit of a shame.
