Setting Action, Set Ups etc

I want to start doing my own set ups for action, intonation etc may involce neck action.

Is there a blow by blow record of how to do this lying around on here, and I do mean a basic procedure.

I have a Mex Fender I can practice on, before I try out on my main basses.

Intonation just involves a tuner, adjustment of string length at the bridge and a bit of patience!

I just felt my way around,i wanted a really low action so i shimmed the neck of my jazz bass and its really low now,just go easy is the best advice i can give.

my recommedation is that you slacken off the strings for every stage of the set up

set the truss rod for bow
set the saddles for action
set the intonation
check the pup heights ...dont slacken off for this

i think you need someone to take you through the stages to eliminate any techno fear and show how easy it is

patience is required

and a tuner..
