padmavyuha
Hello from Ubley, a little south of Bristol. Well, by this time next week I'll be the proud/freaked-out owner of a Stentor Messina 3/4 double bass - never played before, about to plunge into the cool waters of pluckable jazz. I'm mainly a singer and percussionist - hand drums, sort of balkan/moroccan/indian/cuban/afro mongrel style - but I've been wanting a harmony/melody instrument in my life for a while. I tried out a double bass last week to see if it was feasible (I'm missing some muscles in my right shoulder/hand) and it is - and it's like having a singing belly made of wood, so here I go. - Padma (short for something long and Buddhist)
