warwickhunt Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 (edited) OK so right from the off, these are technically PA cabs (Peavey HiSys II) BUT think about this; they handle every frequency required of a bass cab and then some. BW equipped cabs are cracking bits of kit and these are no exception. I've got these up for sale as a PA set up but I've ran my Thunderfunk through one cab last night and it was quite frankly, scarily good... hence my thought to put them up as bass cabs! In fact buy the pair and the 1200w power amp I have for sale and you could scare any sound engineer sh*tless when you turn up. It would also double as a PA in the event of yours breaking! They are 4 ohm cabs rated @ 350w. The cabs are structurally solid and the rat fur to all but the bottom edges is pretty clean and tear free (they've had vinyl covers on from new, when we bought them). The grills have areas where the black powder coating has come off but tbh this is superficial and they could be tarted up very easily with a black marker pen or tin of spray paint... after removing the grills from the cabs. £200 the pair and I'd have to sell as a pair (buy the pair and sell the other), absolutely no offers. Pics on this thread. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=58294 Please note I'm now keeping one of these to use at our rehearsal space as a bass cab so there is only ONE available @ £60. pal1972 Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 would the drivers work in my MAG115 cab??

The 'sonic scientists' will say that specs need to match etc but there is the school of thought that says suck it and see (obviously I am in the latter camp as I am trying to sell ). All sells patter aside the short answer in truth is, that of course they will work and for what the cab is (a budget model full range cab of no specific design), they'll probably work bloody well BUT I would say that why not try my cabs as they are (and designed), you may get a bloody shock as to how good they are for bass just the way they are (I've tried it and it is scary). You can then sell your MAG cab to off-set some of the cost.
warwickhunt Posted October 3, 2009 Author Posted October 3, 2009 Power amp as good as gone so no need to hold onto these so price now dropped to £120... inc a pair of 10m Speak-on to Speak-on leads.
waynepunkdude Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Long shot, are you coming to the SE Bass Bash?

No, unfortunately I'm about 350 miles North of the bash that day; worth asking though Wayne.

My band mates thank you.
warwickhunt Posted October 19, 2009 Author Posted October 19, 2009 £110 collected from the NE and that includes the Speakon to Speakon leads and covers!

Consider that if you wanted to buy a pair of Peavey BW drivers (never mind the cabs or leads etc), you'd struggle to get them much cheaper, then they are pretty much a bargain. Factor in the boxes themselves and you are getting a pretty good PA/bass cab (inc horn) for £55 each!
Jarhead Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 How much to courier these? Very interested. Zach

Sorry, it would be silly money to try and courier them as they are so large and heavy (exceeding a few cheaper couriers 30kg limit).
warwickhunt Posted October 27, 2009 Author Posted October 27, 2009
I'm gonna go find a corner to cry in Zach
If you can find a courier that will take them and it's cheap enough for it to be viable for you then I'll pack them!
Jarhead Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 OK, pm me the details for it, and I'll see if its worth it. Zach

Jarhead Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Lol, I see what you mean. Never mind then. Zach
warwickhunt Posted October 30, 2009 Author Posted October 30, 2009 (edited) At the price I have these cabs advertised it dawned on me (DURH! ) that I'd be an idiot not to keep one and leave at our rehearsal space (no more carting my bass cabs backwards and forwards when one of these will do a great job), so there is now only one cab available @ £60.
