Hooorrayyy - I finally got my new baby :)
After a long time of searching and trying out several different types I ended up with a Fodera NYC Empire 5-string. Very nice bass with a super-nice B-string and the legendary Pope preamp.

I ended up paying € 1750 which I guess is a bargin

I am so happy....now I only need to find out which strings to use. I guess that the B-string shouldn't be too tense.....I'm thinking 128 tops. Any suggestions in that matter?

Wow....I guess I was lucky then. It is a pretty amazing instrument IMHO.

Try laBella HardRockingSteels. The bstring is the best.

Nah, working, the factory that makes the material we sell is near there. I got driven across a large part of the country while I was there though, strangely reminded me a lot of England.

Strings? I'd highly recommend DR Low Riders, very nice low B.
