Peaty
Ok I have read through the various pinned posts on flats and there is plenty of good general info in there, but I have a specific question which is not covered. I am looking for a five string set with a high C rather than a low B so if any one has recomendations I would love to hear them insted of the fall back position of getting a six string set and discarding the low B. looking for a light gauge set 30,40,55,75,95 or thereabouts. Any suggestions greatfully recieved. Thanks Pete
bnt
I've bought High C (roundwound headless) 25-105 sets from Status Graphite by specifying the single gauges, and they packed them in to "custom" sets for me. Their website doesn't have custom set ordering of flatwounds, but they might help by email? The gauges you'd get would be 30-45-65-85-105, which is a bit heavier than you mentioned, but I have the 4-string 45-105 flatwound set on my fretless and I like it. Gazm
I purchased some Rotosounds from Strings Direct. They sell the High C .035" separately. I also bought a set of the half rounds with a separate High C but haven't tried them yet. Pete. The Burpster
D'addario are offering a 'custom set' service if you find a dealer that knows about it. Effectively they will put togther the set you want provding its in a current production range.....
