Al Heeley
I'm told that according to normal practice, compressors belong at the start of the pedal chain to even out signal spikes, levels, etc. Next should be env/wah type effects while the tone is still virgin, but for a Bassballs if I put it straight after the comp, then doesn't that flatten all the dynamics that make the BB work well? Are the 2 pedal types mutually exclusive, or is it a quetion of using the comp to take oout spikes rather than equalise the whole signal level? Also, what is the best practice for eq pedal in the chain? I have A/B box, looper, comp, bassballs, SYB3 synth pedal, chorus, fuzz at the moment.
