Just weigh the damned thing properly.
The Burpster
There is something definately a bit fishy about these scales.......

I used to use mine to move around a pair of Eden D210XLT's, total weight = 138lbs. They tend to go very quickly when a store gets them in, so you need to keep an eye out. The handle on this one is 99cm at full extension. I'm 5'11 - not the tallest of men - and I find that this is simply not long enough. To pull this, I'd need to crouch a little, or lean over a bit, which leads to painful strains on my back muscles.
retroman
If you want to weigh a bass, how about scales for fishing?? I would think it would be very easy just to put the hook around the stem of one of the machine heads, and lift Have to admit, it's nice having a few lighter basses about. Playing the Rickenbacker for three hours straight in rehearsal does make my lower back ache

retroman
Yeah, I did dude It's just I though you were on about the scales that you sit something on, as opposed to scales that you hang something off Then again, I am starting to knock on a bit in years
