I played a maple/maple standard Jazz yesterday and it felt identical to my MIM Jazz (with a maple/maple mighty mite neck). The original neck on my (2001 model) bass is glossy, now I think it's a satin finish. Also the new necks feel a little thicker but I might be wrong on that.
