The neck profile is great, and best of all it just doesn't move. The sounds available are amazing, deep and full, yet bright and clear, no deadspots and great sustain. You make us sound like we don't really care or know about Modulus instruments! Don't forget the detailed advice and suggestions we gave you about why you should opt for the Bartolinis and not the standard EMGs you originally were thinking of before you contacted the US dealer and the price for those also included the other advice we gave you to think carefully about in going for the Aguilar preamp system (either the OBP-1 0r OBP-3) as well. The trouble is with modern email is that we all (and I include myself amongst the sinners!) make snap judgments and decisions without any further communication either verbally or in writing. I certainly didn't mean to infer that they had any superior knowledge or care regarding Modulus basses, you have a very fine reputation, you are afterall the UK distributor for one of the worlds finest instrument manufacturers. I was about to go abroad at the time, and wanted to get the ball rolling on my order before I went, the US store were very prompt in replying to all of my emails I therefore felt obliged to order from them, I'm now about a month into a 6 month wait for my bass. I suppose really I should have phoned you, but I honestly just didn't have the time during your office hours, an email is quick and can be done anytime. I totally agree with you about Modulus basses, they are fantastic instruments, I love mine, and I will certainly will buying another in the very near future...... after I get my fretless that is. I really love the sound of Steve Lawsons semi hollow body Q6, and one of those is next on my list, and I will be contacting you early next year, I'll try and be a bit more patient next time...promise. Enjoy your new Q6, It's fab!! The hollow-body Q6 is a very special instrument. Stefan Lessard of the Dave Matthews Band has a great Q6 Hollow-Body. He opted for a Chechen fingerboard to compliment the wood facing on the body which gives it a great balanced look aesthetically. More time in a delivery system = greater chances of damage occurring (as with driving a car, the more you do each year the odds stack up against you having an accident at some time). Then of course there's the tiem in customs and unless you have an account with say UPS this will cause another delay in the system. Just ensure the dealer in the USA is using a high quality short as possible delivery service and not going for 'el cheapo' to give you a 'deal'. Also, make sure that the shipment right up to you door is covered by full insurance and ask the dealer to confirm that in writing with full details of the policy and its cover as it could be his word against your if anything goes wrong in transit and who'd do think will foot the bill once it hits these shores? You are investing a lot of hard earnt money in such a quality instrument not to mention the emotional and musician side of you in this purchase and you want it all to go right. These are the things everyone on the forum need to be aware of in purchasing from the USA successfully without experiencing any nervous breakdown spoiling your musical experience and the things we all need to weigh in the balance before thinking that the British disease of getting a 'deal' gets in the way of determining the true value of a 'saving' when forking out for such superb instruments. Don't forget if anything goes wrong without covering the above the US dealer is home and dry, he's 1,000's of miles away and suing him or trying to bring the law to bear just isn't worth thinking about. In the UK/EU you have consumer law and consumer rights to back you. Just wanted to raise people's awareness of these vital points when spending so much with a dealer in the US, so I hope it helps! It is something that people need to be careful of, don't try and save a few pounds more by using a cheaper means of shipping, and make sure that the item is fully insured. That was something I was careful about, I chose a dealer with a good reputation, and they're shipping it with either FedEx, or UPS, the one in the photos here was brought over by UPS.
