theosd
Pickups on the Westbury are Di Marzio's, old Model P's i think. Awesome sounding basses. I had one as my first bass about fifteen years ago and regreted getting rid of it so much, i finally bought another one a couple of weeks ago. Any chance of some pics of your bridge conversion?
I would try and get some tonight but my younger brother is currently borrowing it to learn on. A great first bass. di Marzio - them's the ones! Monumental output for a passive bass. I'm gonna have to try and get it back soon I'm hankering after it now! silentbob
That'll be because the originals seem to be made from chewing gum & bend under string tension. This was mine when I got it: I've seen quite a few which have done this, seems to be a rare quality oversight from Matsumoku. I managed to find an older, more solid base/body fro mine, from Howard Bass Doc. Anyway read all about it here.. bassoctopus
2nd hand Warwick Infinity NT 5 bargained the shop down from £1450 to £1100 as it needed a little work. £100 at my luthier and it is now perfect. That's a £5.5k RRP bass And Thunderfunk 550A bought from here for £300. New ones are £1300. I always get comments about my bass sound with this pairing - Thunderfunk even featured my band on their site because the combination sounds so good http://www.thunderfunk.com/YouTube.html Band is 300ft Gorilla Edited March 26, 2010 by bassoctopus
