dazzajl
It's time to send this little baby on it's way. I hardly ever play it, I have a new project to keep me busy (which I'll post up in bit) and unless I let some stuff go I'll have four basses that I feel bad about not playing enough. It's a a pre fender buyout model and something of a one off, made to order guitar. I've had since new and it's never been out of the house, although I have no reason to suspect it's agoraphobic. It's spruce and cedar with an ebony finger board. It has a Fishman pickup for those that want to be plugged in and is built with the care and quality you'd expect from a top notch instrument. Of course it looks good enough to hang in a gallery but that's not the reason why you want to buy it. I played another acoustic bass the other day and was reminded how they all sound. Nice but with a hollow and metallic presence that never works for me. If they are Curtis Mayfield, then this is Barry White. The depth of resonance and mellow woodyness of this beastie is in a world of it's own. It's a hard one to price. It was £1200 odd quid new and can't be bought now for any cost and while I'd hope it will get played, could also be a collectors toy. I'm thinking £950 is a fair price for the sound alone and that's what it should be for. There is a gallery with more pics here http://homepage.mac.com/lightfall.uk/Tacoma/ If you're able, please to come and have a play but be prepared to be won over. BigBeatNut
There was a time when I would have gone for this without hesitation. Now, however, I'm pretty tied in to 5ers, so it in't for me. Gorgeous bass ... hope it goes to a good home. Andy

dazzajl
Thanks for the comments guys. I've always thought that it's quite nicely proportioned from body to head. There is an Epiphone wildkat in the background on one of those shots and that has a head that doesn't fit to my eye. It's still a lovable thing though of course. saxobass
Can`t find it on Ebay. Would you be interested in trading it for a rather lovely `German Blonde` double bass (3/4 size)dating from the 50`s and in superb condition. This was recently valued by a dealer as being worth about £ 1400....he offered me a straight &900 for it. Cheers....Paul Warner
