YouMa Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Doing some upgrades at the moment,I have 3 wires 2 black and one white coming from each pickup in my fender jazz which is the hot and which is the common? I would assume the 3rd wire from each pickup is for shielding each pickup cavity, anyone know.Cheers. Quote
The Bass Doc Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Yes, white will be hot and the two blacks go to earth i.e. one pickup neg and one shield. Quote

Once again thanks for your knowledge.Mark Edited September 9, 2009 by YouMa Quote
7string Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 I should think that any ground would work, either to the back of pot or a screw. There's a Fender webpage giving a load of wiring diagrams here which should help you. Quote
