Bobo_Grimmer
Hi, at the moment i'm running D'Addario EXL 165 string's and i really like them but i have been thinking of going up a gauge. Would I need to adjust anything on my bass? The bass i want to change the gauge string's on is a lefty fender jazz. Sorry if this seem's like a silly question but i just want to be shore about everything before i go ahead and i know that you guy's know far more about basses than me. You might get away without it (especially on the thinner strings) if the nut's been cut a little slack [/list]

I like to be shore of everything cus i don't want to bugger up my bass. I might leave it for the moment then because i have a right handed neck on my jazz, the one in my avatar pic, and the nut isn't that great so fiddling with it isn't the best idea. once i get a new neck i might think about setting it up with a thicker gauge then. i'm looking at setting it up with some new pickups and generally giving it a service and clean. It get's quite a bashing so it's time for a bit of tlc.....
