Hi,

I bought a squire VMJ from this site a few months ago, its looooovely. But i'm not a fan of the jazz necks.

Basically my question is, if i bought a Fender Precision neck, would it fit the jazz neck pocket?

I cant find neck dimensions... but if its different, i'm really not up for widening the pocket.

any infos appreciated :)

cheeeeers
Most Fender necks fit most Fender bodies - you'd be very unlucky if any major tweaking was necessary - usually height differences are more likely - cured by adjusting the bridge saddles.
I bet Doc's done this more times than anyone on planet earth !!
i had a fender precision special...with jazz neck
the fit was a bit loose...
from that i assume that there must be some discrepancies in width only
No, that's just Fender's notoriously poor quality control  Generally speaking there won't be a problem with a P neck on a J because the heels of both are near enough the same size and, as is suggested by your experience, most Fender pockets are somewhat wider than most Fender heels :)
