jdbennet Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Hey guys, my name is James and im new here, currently living in Dundee in scotland. Been playing bass a year or so (im not that great, but im learning ). Um, equiptment wise i have a bass with "Shine" written on it, it actually plays (and sounds) very nice - oh and a 50w peavey amp. I used to have an old shergold bass (crazy 70s thing) which was really nice but the electronics died on that. So anyway, Hi! Quote

Im working on fixing the electronics, i believe it just needs a new jack socket, its just i dont really have the time atm. Quote

skankdelvar Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 (edited) Hi James and welcome You've opened a can of worms with that Shergold. Some of the folks here have a severe Jones for that old 70's gear - and money has been known to change hands. Don't be surprised if you find some odd-looking men hanging around outside your house... Enjoy the forum! Edited September 17, 2009 by skankdelvar Quote
jdbennet Posted September 17, 2009 Author Posted September 17, 2009 Thanks for the warm welcome, people Quote

If it has a slider switch then it's an early one as the later ones had two jack outs, one that was all strings out that switched to just two of the four when the other socket was used. And if you haven't already found it, have a look HERE for more info Edited September 20, 2009 by WalMan Quote
JimBobTTD Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Er...hang on. Is your name James Bennet? I do NOT like this one bit. That is my name, although I have a double t. Next thing you'll be telling us is that you have Scottish relatives and play bass. Quote
