slaphappygarry
Good effort guys. You sound nice and tight. Not sure if its the myspace thing thats killed the mixes but it sounds to me like there is little going on over 5k.... sounds like the top end has been totally filtered away. May just be the myspace nastyness.... But its worse on happy than the others. Still, you guys sound solid and i am a fussy, nit picking studio engineer myself... ped
It has a nice energy to it. I agree with Garry that the top end is shelved away but I know myspace compresses audio a lot. It kind of sounds quite good like that too, it adds to the raw live feel! ped
ZPQ
If it's your first time recording then I think it's great. Perhaps the drums could be more upfront and the vocals slightly back in the mix, but it's all pretty clear and should be a good demo for getting gigs etc. Nice one! bassboy115
cheers guys. Do u mean the top end of the bass? or just the highs in general? and if its the bass do you mean the low end or high? as far as the drums go our idiot of a drummer had his skins too loose and we didnt realise until they were recorded as they sounded alright when we tried em so they had to be held back a bit in the mix! ZPQ
To my ears it's mainly the top end of the drums that I'd bring up. The rest of the mix is ok. Cheers John
