Why bother when you can get a 'proper' used Stingray for the same money ?

Can't go wrong for that price :)

They seem to have been around the £600-650 mark for good condition EB Ray4 for a while now unless I'm missing something. Don't think there are many takers for the bay stuff on BIN £900+ or suchlike.

The Sterlings are awesome instruments. Tried out the Ray35 and the SB14 a couple of weeks back. Tonally, they're indistinguishable from the "real thing", and the feel is exactly the same. The SB14 actually sounded quite a bit better than an actual MM Sterling that was hanging on the wall next to it! :)

Give it a few months, and the Sterlings will be hitting the used market for £400 or so. Then you'll have a real bargain.

i'd still rather spend the £250 more for a used SR4 2 band but the SBM basses will be awesome for someone who wants a 2nd ray or is stuck in that middle gap.

also is it me or does anyone else not like the new MM pickup shape?
