Hutton Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Slab body. 2 eq. Stingray electrics. Ok the SUB may not be as pretty in some folks estimation and it doesn't have mutes or strings though the body but is the new retro Stingray that different? I also agree that Sterling Ball is a huge hypocrite in going retro and also for the new line of basses built outside the USA. I recall him criticising others for going abroad and that solely building in the states was something that EBMM prided themselves on. Maybe the funny shaped basses with all the knobs aren't selling too well! Quote

I can't help but think sterling ball is a HUGE hypocrite, preaching about how he's apparently moving the industry forward and can't stand all these people obsessed with vintage/retro gear. *ahem*.[/quote] He's just giving people what they want. Plus you really can't argue with all the new stuff they brought out this year. Plus, these are lmited run. Quote

Some of us however just don't buy the mountains of sycophancy on the EBMM forum. Sterling Ball is mortal, it's about time all you guys over on that forum realised it. Quote
Duarte Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 It's true, I'm a complete fanboy. Love that EBMM forum, to me it just shows fantastic customer support and we can actually pitch ideas and beg until we get something. For example, ebony on on stealth finish basses - he once said 'that'll never happen' but then look what happens... But I literally LOVE everything that comes out of that factory, which is what seals it for me. MMs are the basses for me, whatever the model. Quote

I've never used 'em on mine, cos even when I bought it back in the day those ridiculously hard to grasp screws which adjust them were stuck fast (and I didn't fancy slashing my fingers open trying to loosen 'em... those mounts are deadly!). Same story on me Cutlass. Isn't it just easier to use your hand? Or am I a philistine? Quote
