ritch
Does anybody know where I could get hold of a Fender Jaguar Baritone from? I'd like the sunburst one that was around a couple of years ago rather than the current black one that's around. I had a look at Ishibashi and guitaremporium but can't seemt to find anything. Help would be much appreciated!! Rich
OutToPlayJazz
Do you mean the Fender bass VI? Thomann.de are quoting £1421.20 but it's on an "on request" ordering basis... DV247.com £1729.99 Hope this isthe one you were thinking of... The 'Jaguar' is a standard tuning bass with a similar body & lots of active trickery
OutToPlayJazz
BTW, the baritone VI seems to have been quietly dropped when the Fender websites updated a couple of months ago (with the addition of new colours like "Candy Cola" on the basses & the new VG series strat, etc...), same as the Zone series of basses. ritch
No, not the Fender Bass VI - although they are very nice, just a little too pricey for me. The Jaguar Baritone was a bit like it, but cheaper. Like this

Ronnie Wibbley
Hello all. You might try Peter Cook's Guitar World; they had a couple in a few months ago. I've got one and wouldn't sell it; it's a magnificent, if underused, beast. I bought it really as a bari guitar (those Wichita Lineman twangy solos) but was surprised how good it is as a bass with the treble rolled off. Don't confuse the black ones with this; the Specials have a shorter scale, humbuckers instead of single coils, and are designed to be tuned B-B or A-A rather than the low E-E of the Customs. Cheers Ron
