hmm, I could be interested, I have jazz gas (again :) ) and have started snooping about a bit.

I believe all of the earliest MIM production Jazz Basses had that style scratchplate. They also poplar bodies rather than the current alder spec.

If I didn't have 2 already, I'd have taken your arm off!

The one piece guard was fitted to the Mex standard Jazz for a few years in the 80s/90s (from memory). They came with white stratocaster style knobs - so presumeably the black one is a replacement. Nice price!
