Enormous player capable of very low action

Had this since the Romans came my way and its only ever been transported in a bin bag ( doh )

Currently strung as a tenor bass but normally with 30 -90

Here's mine:

A '76 450B

and an XKB-10

The XKB is in the middle of a complete overhaul and refinish since it was rather battered when I bought it.

I'm a big fan of aluminium for guitar and bass construction, and also have a fake Duke (probably made by Hondo) a Hartke XL-4 and Born To Rock F4B with Aluminium necks.

You like?

Sorry it's not likely to be for sale any time soon.

It's not 100% original, as a previous owner had mucked about with the electronics somewhat, so everything except the pickups and selector switch had to be replaced. Also the body has been drilled to allow through body stringing.

I had a lot of fun resorting it back to original looking condition. The aluminium polishes up a treat with the use of Brasso.

I've been looking for a 650 for myself too. However the prices in the UK are starting to get a bit rich for me...

The 450 was reasonably cheap but the seller hadn't done a very good job with the photos or description and it didn't look particularly good. However as you can see it cleaned up nice!

Did you buy that from "Livewire" in Cardiff by any chance?

OOF ! thats a blast from the past ..

Came from one of the second hand places in a trade deal with ( i cant remember what now ! lol )

Although i remember it being played in the early 80s ( maybe 84 ) by a mate of mine ( ill have to find him and ask him though ) think it got passed around a bit before i stumbled upon it stuck in a corner looking all ZZ Top ( id previously had a 650 )

My favourite bass shop ever btw , a source of constant GAS thru my formative and inebriated bass upbringing and a chance to get up close and personal with so many high end and delicious toys ..Saturdays have never been the same !!

Should start a " Where are they now thread " ??

Here's my DMZ4001. Nearest thing to an active bass I've ever played...and it's passive!

Sadly, have to say goodbye to it shortly, if anyone's after a prime 1979 example.

Here's a couple of pics featuring my Kramer Ferrington electro - acoustic.

Pointy headed acoustics are probably pretty rare, I know this was. I've never seen another one, maybe there's a reason for that

I sold it when i stopped playing for a number of years, I know who has it though and it's been well cared for

it was a lovely cherry red with cream binding and nice inlays

Don't think I've got any just of the bass - sorry about that - bare in mind these pics were taken about 1998 I think
