On another note, I like the way you are hanging your washing out to dry on your fretboard, as you are playing. Great multi tasking. Quote

Hehe yeah, I reckon I could probably fit a few more pairs of socks on there, or maybe a pair of underpants! It might help the tone! Quote
oldslapper Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016
awesome saw JB live in 1980 with Sector27 playing that rather nice fretless P at Hull Uni Students Union
He's still got an old fretless P. It's in need of some work mind, so sadly didn't get a chance to play it. Quote
gjones Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 (edited) This is a gig I did a while ago, with Sandy Tweeddale, at The Jazz Bar in Edinburgh. It was a basically a jam, with guys I don't usually play with, but actually sounds like we know what we're doing. Sandy's an excellent blues guitarist when he's sober (he wasn't) and a pretty decent one when he's drunk. The rest of the band are sober though, so we have no excuse when we cock it up. If you like Blues, I hope you'll enjoy it. Edited September 4, 2016 by gjones Quote

The Destroyers!!! I love that band. I had the good luck to support them a couple of years ago at Balkanarama in Edinburgh and Glasgow, they were amazing Edited September 12, 2016 by mcnach Quote
Sumbabba Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Ah ok thanks. I left the band about 2 years ago and did a few Balkanaramas before then so I might've been there! Still doing the odd gig with them when they need a dep like on Saturday, bloody good fun. You're right, an amazing band. Quote

Sumbabba Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Yes I was still in the band at that point but I think I wangled my way out of that gig. Couldn't face another year of crashing on the floor of Saska's flat with fourteen snoring hairy men... Quote

BottomE Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Horn section turned up impromptu at gig. This tune was announced, I'd last played it about 12 years ago! Eeks, count of 6 at the end of the "verse" - blagged it a bit. They have threatened to come along again (have known trombone player for ages) - that would be so good. mrtcat Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 (edited) Recording of a dep that the singer from my band and I did on Saturday. Easy to learn the set because they use backing tracks so they sent us the tracks and we were both able to run through a few bits on our own before the gig. Went well despite the drummers best attempts at making us laugh to put us off. Edited September 27, 2016 by mrtcat Quote
