Honestly - it's just the best amp I've ever had. It sounds SO right, all the time.

Happy days. We're supposed to be recording a new album across the continents this year, though it's hard work herding the cats to get it all together.

In the meantime a load of old live videos are being dripped out on a weekly basis.

Can't remember what amp I had at the time. I have a sneaking suspicion that it was a Peavey Megabass biamped into a Peavey 1516 cab (2x8 +15).

All things considered for a video from 26 years ago and the sound rescued as best as possible it doesn't sound too bad. We had some bloody good fun :D

I know this is not everyone's cup of tea, and maybe I'm opening myself up for a bit a ridicule here, but here is a recent composition of mine played on my custom Brook acoustic bass

http://youtu.be/DuqCBgLBWkM

Got my bass back in July, and have been slowly getting to know her (yes my bass is female, called Patricia if you really want to know).

I am trying to build up a little repertoire of pieces that make use of fingerstyle in a slightly Celtic/ folk style. I have some recent arrangements to record of some real traditional folk tunes.

The bass is basically a Gibson j200 shape, Engleman top, bubinga back and sides, and walnut neck

No ridicule here, Robbie, only respect. A very excellent piece, bringing out the qualities of the guitar and putting them to fine use. A more than pleasant change from some of the more frantic modern stuff. More, please..? Thanks in advance; thanks for sharing.
Again, respect.

Thank you everybody. I recorded it using a stereo pair of Rode NT55s, purely acoustically. Recorded into iMovie.

I've recorded a couple of other solo pieces, including this arrangement of Star of County Down, a tune I have always loved, and have arranged in a variety of ways. Here it is in my recent solo bass arrangement

I don't know how you embed videos on here. Can anyone help me out? Anyway, high time I introduced myself and my bass, which I shall do so in another thread.

Thanks again,

Robbie

Hi folks, here's another wee solo video. This time it's Dizzy Gillespie's Woody 'n' You. Hope you enjoy it! :)
