Jay2U Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 Been doing another Misfits song. So much fun... 😋 Quote

wateroftyne Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 I finally did it! Intense boredom forced me to work out the Sir Duke run. I know it's not a big deal, but I'm a R,5,R,5 guy and this has more notes in it than I would normally play in a month. My upper frets are still in shock. 10 Quote

I hate playing that tune 😂 Quote
Bilbo Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 It doesn't go quite how I thought it did. Jumps around in different octaves. I remember I had to read it once. I was so impressed that I pulled it off (it is easier to read things you know by ear than to read things cold). Good job. Quote

wateroftyne Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 ....and the thought of reading it cold blows my mind. I don't know how anyone could do that. Amazing. Quote
AndyTravis Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 Well. Boss RC-1 arrived. Rusty at looping...but...I plan to do more of these. 6 Quote

AndyTravis Posted March 29, 2020 Posted March 29, 2020 still hate looping pedals. In the absence of a band mate to join in with - I’ll persevere. 4 Quote

wateroftyne Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Here's the lockdown-friendly video for the new single of a band wot I'm in. I pulled my ol' 71 fretless Precision out for this one. 5 Quote

Al Krow Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 That was nicely done @wateroftyne - what did you guys record it on? Quote

The song was recorded just before the restrictions came in. The drums were done at the drummer's house, the bass in my house (Handbox R-400 DI > cheap little Focusrite > Adobe Audition), and we sent the files to the guitarist. He just has a protools set up in a small room in his house, which is where we also did all the vocals, violin & accordion. I don't think he has any clever outboard stuff, just a few nice mics and a good ear. The video was necessitated by the restrictions - I put it together from mobile phone selfie vids, as you've probably guessed. In't technology marvellous? mrtcat Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 As with many bands we are doing a few "lockdown" tunes. 4 Quote
