budget bassist Posted September 27, 2009 Share Posted September 27, 2009 (edited) I don't think we have one of these so i thought it could be interesting, so we can have a look at each other's styles and techniques, hear what certain basses/amp combos sound like and give some constructive criticism etc and just watch some cool videos. So i'll start it off. Here's one i recorded today of me playing along to Holy Wars by Megadeth. There are some minor mistakes (especially the fill near the end), but i'm pretty happy! It looks difficult but you are nearly there with the fast parts. Nice one! This is one of me doing a Zappa number .. I've always loved Thunes' playing. Keep It Greasey from the YCDTOSA Vol.3 album is a particular fav of mine. Tom Fowler (another Zappa pick player) also does a great version of this song. I only just realised today that my phone was decent for videos so that's why i've just bashed 3 videos up today. I think the first megaedeth one was my favourite though. Pete Academy, HOLY CRAP you and your band sound EXCELLENT!! Great players and singers, wow! Silddx, Great job on the Zappa tune. You sound great on it man. Oscar South, Nice job, I have to admit the syc jumping was funny too! Zomby Woof, Not sh*t! I wish you had the whole song up though, I liked your version. MythSte, Weird how the sound isn't linked but nice work on the tune, and that is a sweet bass! WHUFC BASS, Your singers voice kinda reminds me of Lemmy(which is cool ), your bass sound is killin and the band name is great! Budget Bassist, Nice job on the Megadeth tune!
